In very truth we meet with love. And as we come to you, drawn to you because of the like vibrations, and because thou art seeking truth, and because you realise in your hearts that love is the only power of any real lasting worth. Even so, we must ask you to love and to forbear with all your friends, relations, and neighbours and with all those with whom you come into contact.
Even as we stretch forth the hand of friendship unto you, so must you do likewise with all and sundry. Realising at all times that thou art but one, one great family. And that you have in other worlds, brothers and sisters with a beauty which you could never in your world, imagine. And these are they who we ask and who we call upon for inspiration and guidance. We need help for ourselves and for you. And we in turn bow our heads and sit in the quiet glades, sometimes alone, and sometimes in twos and threes and even greater groups, and concentrate, and pray, first to the most high God, and then, from these other worlds, from these higher spheres, from those places where knowledge is greater than in our own spheres, come these lovely, beautiful souls, the elder children of our Father, and they inspire and guide and teach us, and in turn we are able to inspire, guide, and we hope, to teach you a little more of truth.
And because of this inner realisation, because you realise your relationship with us and with our Father, God, then you have already begun the spiritual work. You are already about your Father's business. You are doing His bidding, and you have begun your real work in the world. And, to a greater degree, you will do exactly the same work when you come hence. And it is trying to understand the working of other people's minds. Trying to see through their ignorance the reason for their so-being. And you will realise that eventually they will turn to thee, if not in this world, in your Earth world, they will know and recognise you in this, our world.
And then you will be filled with a great pity, and a much greater love for these little ones. But the more that you can practice patience and understanding with such as these, the better equipped wilt thou be for dealing with very difficult cases when you come hence. And so, even as the sick and the poor are always with you, you will find that the ignorant, and the selfish, and the conceited, will always be with you too. For this is simply a form of childishness. Spiritual childishness and weakness which will be found in little children in every world. In the younger ones. There are they upon the Earth plane who are great in authority, who sit in a high place, who make decisions which affect thousands of people, who are bowed down to, who are recognised for their cleverness, and their so-called greatness, and yet, in very truth, many there are that walk the streets of the Earth, who ask for alms, and who beg their daily bread, who find, on coming over into the Spirit world, have earned, in God's sight, a more prominent place, and greater spiritual authority.
And you have been taught, that these who profess to know, who are childish and foolish enough to say that another person is doing this or that wrong, concerning religion, is himself immature and undeveloped. And if they will not, because they cannot, understand the findings of your seeking, fret not. And let not your heart be troubled concerning these things. Because always, in every world, in every sphere, there is the reaching up and the reaching down. We all need help from those who are nearer to perfection than we are, and there are always those who need help from us and from you.
But because you realise and know, and you recognise your own shortcomings, your own nothingness, and you are open to forget that which you know to-day, for that which you will learn about tomorrow. And this, this attitude, this outlook, is the keynote to success spiritually. The willingness to throw away and to forget that which you have held most precious, perhaps, through a whole life-time, because through your seeking you find a greater truth, a more reasonable explanation, for things as you see them. But this is a gift. It is only found in what we would call a real working mind, a mind that is willing to work. And there are so many whose hands are always busy, whose feet are always willing to run here and to run there, to execute this duty and the other. To mind not only their own daily business, but the business of all other folk. And yet, their mind is not a working mind. They will not, or as you have so aptly put it: they cannot think.
We have been listening to your conversation and these are they with the lazy mind, and yet, they can always, always tell you and us, if they had the opportunity, what to do, and how to do it. But this is definitely a sign of childishness. A little child always knows best, always wants exactly what he wants, when he wants it, and is satisfied with little things. "Give him plenty to do," they say, "And he will be happy."
And so there is nothing at all to worry about. Know what you know, and be willing to learn more and more. The door is open and we shall enter in.
We are all one family. This principle is seen everywhere.
At its heart, this transcript presents a profoundly compassionate re-framing of how we are to view other people—particularly those who appear difficult, ignorant, or flawed. Rather than judging or resisting them, we are invited to recognise them as “spiritual children,” individuals at an earlier stage of development, whose behaviour reflects limitation rather than malice. Life is a training ground in understanding: a place in which patience, tolerance, and love are not optional virtues, but essential disciplines through which the soul matures. True spiritual progress lies in humility—the recognition of one’s own incompleteness, and the willingness to continually revise one’s understanding in the light of deeper truth.
A particularly powerful thing to consider is that the communicators could come to Mary because they could resonate with Mary’s state of being. Purifying our hearts and minds lifts our vibrations and by our very nature helps obtain help from like-minded souls.
