…shall set you free. And yet the truth is simple. And as we read your mind and talk to you through your thoughts, and communicate with you in your quiet times, we realise how difficult it is at the same time, to live and to work and to be happy, as it were, in the conditions which surround you today. And yet, things have not really changed. You talk about the constant change and the depressions and frustrating conditions. But, in very truth, Man will always create these difficult obstacles for himself to climb. Simply because he will not be simple, he will not be humble, he will not be satisfied, he will not be contented with his lot. He must be forever searching for the wide highway which leads more and more into the world, into materialism, into the so-called power that beckons, but are as nothing. He will follow the craving. He will try to be up in front with all and sundry, he will try to get that one pace in front of his neighbour. He will be at the so-called top. He will have those things, and even better things, that his neighbour possesses, and this is the way the world.
And when they achieve this thing or that they say, “Now I am at peace, I have got that which I want”. Want, want, want! But all these things and not the peace, and cannot bring the peace that Christ promised.
"My peace I give unto you, but not as the world knows it”.
And we come unto you with great joy and with gratitude in our hearts that you have forsaken the wide, wide, highway of the world they found a secret paths which lead to the quiet streams of living waters. You have found your own secret place. A place of the Spirit where the noisome crowd will not gather because it is not the way of the world. It is the way, the true way, to peace. To peace in the mind.
And then the days when the Buddha, and the Christ, and when the great seers through the ages, walked, they too were surrounded with the people, with the crowd, who could only cry. “I want. I will have”.
And so you see things have not really changed. Habits have changed. Things through the scientific mind of Man, which have been secrets, as it were, have been uncovered, discovered for all to see. But they can only see the surface. They can only see the so-called gift. They know not the giver. They know not the secret, divine power creates all the wonders, the so-called wonders, of the world. And because they only see and understand the surface, the shiny part, as it were, that would take and hold and grab and use and bring unto themselves, through the use of these things, a certain amount of so-called physical comfort and pleasure. Things that will please the ear for a time and the eye, things which will help them to produce more and more to go into their bodies, forgetting that there is a spiritual side to their nature, to their being which needs food and succour, but they know not of these things. And so they grab and take until they seems to be nothing left but refuse, rubbish. This grabbing and taking, this wanting and craving, leaves in its wake all the debris, and they know not what it is to be done with the debris.
Sick minds overburdened bodies, whose organs have being abused through all the things which they have been greedily taking in, without the health-giving properties of spiritual understanding. All this is causing sickness of the mind, sickness of the body, tiredness, fatigue, because I never go, they never leave the main crowded highway of noise and glitter. They never take the quiet path, wherein the streams of living waters flow. They never feel the clean, fresh, spiritual air which will cleanse and bring quiet and peace to the mind.
And you, like us, can only stand and watch. And you will see the madding crowd move on, move on, seeing nothing, only the very things which are right close unto their eyes, their physical eyes They are unseeing, nay, they are sleeping, and all they see is the nightmarish dream which because they are only in a certain state of mind, seems real to them, but which are shadows, a mirage, unreal things which simply pass and a night in their dreams.
But those who find their own individual, lonely, quiet path, which leads to the sacred shrine within their own being, these are they which drink of the true Spirit, and bring it back, because whilst you are upon the Earth you must needs come back again and again into the known highway, because this is the physical world. But your body will withstand the impact of the crowd, but your mind, the mind state of your mind, is renewed. This is the peace, but not as the world knows it. But the world cannot destroy it. Nothing appertaining to the world can touch it. This, your own treasure, your own pearl, your own stone.
And so, beloved, hand in hand, mind to mind, joined together through love and through spirit, we make our way, and we see with the physical eye that which saddens our hearts. But we know that even the sparrow and the lilies of the field are taken care of, and that all these children of God must at some time or another, turn back and look in the right direction.
But, it is so saddening when we see the millions that come onto the Earth plane who have promised themselves to leave alone, as it were, the main highway, and to seek from the very beginning their own quiet path. Which will mean, if they walk their own quiet path, which will mean if they walk their own individual path, that they will not have to come back again to train, to learn, upon the Earth .
And so it is with gratitude and with grateful hearts that we accompany you on your way. Because there is no barrier, because we are linked through the mind. And so together we witness, together we understand. And we are legion. But we are privileged to be able to make contact, to be able to communicate with Spirit that are still in the Earth body, encased in flesh, that can see. And for each one of you that are upon the Earth, we are so grateful, because each man in his Earthly body has got to realise and under-stand the power of Spirit before the promised heaven on Earth can be accomplished. And so you must forget your frustration and your depressions because how long, how long, how long will it take, you can see, ages, and countless ages. But to be one of the few that can rest in a quiet, sacred, divine place, whilst in the body of flesh, is a great and blessed privilege. So many of us knew it not. Take this peace, feel this quiet power which stems from pure simplicity, humility, and love and let the other things pass you by. And try to understand that the little ones must run after something, even as a baby runs after his baubles. But as the baby grows into a man and puts away childish things, so shall the day come when all these so-called adults who are still but little children will realise that their treasures are false and they too, will turn to the spirit. But it may mean coming back again and again. But as for yourself, be at peace. Be still and know that I am God. And accept our love, our guidance, and our protection. And it is only because you yourself have found the quiet place of your own accord, of your own free will, that we can enjoy this blessed communication.
All is love.
This transcript's central point is that history hasn't fundamentally changed, only its surface — "habits have changed," science has uncovered secrets once hidden, but the same crowd that surrounded the Buddha and the Christ still cries "I want, I will have," now with more sophisticated things to want. The transcript is blunt about the cost of this: minds and bodies genuinely made sick through unrestrained craving, "sick minds, overburdened bodies," and a kind of spiritual waste piling up behind endless getting and grabbing — "debris" no one knows what to do with.
Its sharpest observation concerns knowledge without understanding: people can now see and use "the so-called wonders of the world" clearly, but "they know not the giver" — technical mastery of the surface without any contact with what actually produced it. This isn't a rejection of scientific discovery itself, only of mistaking discovered mechanism for discovered meaning.
Its central promise, familiar from elsewhere in this collection, is peace "not as the world knows it" and untouched by it — "nothing appertaining to the world can touch it" — available, even now, to a very few who found their own "quiet path" early, sparing them the "ages, and countless ages" others may still need before finally turning back toward it. And its closing tenderness reframes ordinary human craving with real gentleness rather than judgment: people caught chasing baubles are compared not to fools but to babies who haven't yet grown into men, "as a baby runs after his baubles" — a stage to be outgrown in time, not a permanent flaw to be condemned.
