Another year of Earth life is passed, and before you came to this your Earth life, you knew me and I knew you, and we saw each other face to face. We talked of your Earth life that was to come and of the experiences which were absolutely necessary for you to develop, and for you to progress and approach that state of being where you could do those things that you longed to do.
But because there were, for want of a better word, flaws in your make-up which prevented you from going further, you had come, like all others, to a blank wall. You found yourself at a certain place which, although invisible, the barrier could not be seen, yet you could not pass through, and yet you knew, as all others know, at some time or another, that behind that invisible barrier your heart's desire lay. That what would enrich, which could help you to fulfil the purpose and the plan of God, and then you came, and year by year I have walked beside you.
But what many people do not understand is this, that the so-called guide or guardian angel for a thousand different reasons, depends for his or her progress upon the progress of the Earth child. Although naturally, the guide, guardian angel, or control, must have a deeper knowledge of spiritual things, must be an older soul than their charge and ward, but for reasons which you cannot understand here and now, they must assign themselves to this one or that, so that they can, in a strange way, enrich their own spiritual life. And it is never by accident that the guide and the Earth child come into contact. There is a strange, mysterious, unexplainable, at this time, link between two, and the failure of the one keeps back the other. The guide, the control, cannot fail his ward or charge because the law decrees that this one has all the spiritual equipment to help guide and protect his ward and charge.
There is always a great love, a great bond, between them going back through countless ages. And now, beloved, our task together concerning your life on Earth is nearly over and I have been able to place in your palm the pearl, the stone, call it what you will, and when this happens there is great rejoicing in the heavenly spheres. For two will benefit, two can go further and the pact which has been made ages and ages ago, has been fulfilled. And although it is very rare that the guide or angel can meet and converse as we have done, it is possible for every Earth child to make the contact. But where I have been most fortunate is having the link.
It is sad, you will think, to see how these lovely souls on this side of the veil work so patiently, so insistently for a whole lifetime with their charge, without ever being recognised, thought about, not even known in the conscious life of their ward.
And so I bring you my gift this day of heartfelt thanks. And although we are never wholly satisfied because eternity is such a long, long, time, and there are still so many wonderful, exciting things that we must do together, but the stone is in the keeping and this you will one day understand, what a wonderful, glorious thing this is.
Do not be depressed by the ordinary human depressions, and failures and petty weaknesses of which you feel guilty. We remind you again that this is but human, this is a sign of the human body getting old. This is a sign of the law being fulfilled. The material law and the wonderful new beginning looming up when we will be together one again. Two again. Free again. But without that helplessness of babyhood, mature, in your prime, able, experienced.
O, my beloved, take my love. Take my heartfelt thanks. And now we still walk together but more quietly, more calmly, quiet, and at peace. But nevertheless learning, learning from the great bank of knowledge which our Father has made our own. Bless you.
