It is good to meet again in this way. And it is such a pleasure because you know that we can come and communicate with you in this way.
For we help wherever we can and de those things which thou would have us do. But we are still human enough to enjoy communication with those who know and who understand and who realise that in very truth this is taking place, the talking from one to another.
But there are the goodly folk who ask for help by praying to the great God of love. And these prayers are answered, just as your prayers are answered, if those gentle folk have the right conditions and are on the right vibration but still, the so-called personal touch is missing if they do not understand the technique of spirit communication. Their prayers are answered and help is given if they are receptive to the true power of love. If from their hearts and minds comes this great ray or this magnetism which draws love, help and truth. Then, in very truth, they receive all the help possible.
But it is so much more satisfying to communicate and to know that we know and understand each other. Mary, you have always loved the high places. In your earthly life there is no greater thrill that one can give you but to let you be, as it were, at the foot of a great hill or mountain. And we know the pleasure that you derive from climbing, and from walking, and from feeling the freedom of being in a quiet place, in the rarefied air. And you sау in your prayers that it is difficult for us to understand the wonder and the marvel that await you in this, the world of spirit. But even as you appreciate the high and the quiet places upon the earth, the hills and the mountains and the fresh breezes that blow thereon, even so your spirit appreciates the higher planes and the places where the wind of truth and love blow freely. And you feel that these things and these places will be strange unto you but it is not so.
We repeat that the things of the earth are but a reflection of the real and the true and the spirit. And sobeit, as you enjoy and appreciate and thank God for the high, quiet, clean places upon the earth, so does your spirit soar to the higher places where love and light and truth abide. And when sleep holds you, your spirit automatically and quite naturally goes to it's proper place. And it in in the clean and pare air of spirit, and you are quite used to it, and you are quite at home in these higher regions, in these places. And you choose these things of your own accord. You do not force them, or you do not want to go to these places just because you are curious. You are drawn there even as you are drawn to the mountains and hills of earth. So your spirit craves to be in its proper place.
And you are at home here even as you are at home here in this world, in this material, human, world. Because all around you here on the earth plane, there is a reflection of your nature, the orderliness and those practical, that you call them, the practical things which you use so that you may not be a trouble to other people. And as you have built and created these things all around. you in your humble abode of earth, so have you created all these things in the spirit world. You will find that as you have created all these things to make things easy for yourself, albeit, they are not attractive to other people, they help you ant save you from disturbing others.
And so in the world of spirit you have created that spiritual help which you have created through your own achievements, through your own persevering, through your own trying and through your own experience. And they will be practical in spiritual things, inasmuch as you have learned to understand other people, inasmuch as you have tried and practised tolerance and patience and understanding, so you will find that those things will be at hand and you will be able with this power to create a certain amount of help for those who are able to receive it upon the earth. And nothing has been wasted. All the thought and the work that you have put into creating things upon the earth, the very simple things, the holy things, the true things, the things that matter. There are a reflection of the orderliness of your spirit abode. And you will find that you will not have to create with the hands but only with the mind. And you will be able to seek that this should be done or that. And because of the orderliness, because of everything being in their proper place, you will know exactly what you have to do and what you need and how to do it. And when this time comes you will be grateful for the love you had of the simple things, the every day things, the useful things, the ordinary things and these, remember, being the reflection of the real, will indeed stand you in very good steed. For you will not reach out for the things which will be out of your reach. For the simple, holy, humble, things are always attainable. And you have found out upon the earth plane, that these are the only things that really matter.
So shall it be in this world of spirit, that you will not crave for the unattainable. That you will create there, as you create here, the things which are at hand and which can be used, not only for your can benefit, but for the benefit of others. And even as the material wealth, the material possessions, which have come to you as you have this so-called power to distribute, and to help this one and to help that, and you have done this with much thought.
This transcript makes a specific claim about spirit contact: prayers can be genuinely answered without any conscious awareness that communication is even happening, provided the person is receptive to love and truth — but real, recognised two-way communication, "the personal touch," is a distinct and more satisfying thing, requiring understanding of "the technique of spirit communication" that most sincere pray-ers never develop. Help doesn't depend on knowing how it arrives; conscious contact is simply a further, rarer step.
Its central image draws on Mary's own love of mountains and high, quiet places on Earth to explain something about the spirit world's higher planes — not as a strange, unfamiliar destination, but as the true version of exactly what she already seeks and loves here, "the things of the earth are but a reflection of the real." Her spirit, the transcript says, is already at home there during sleep, drawn naturally rather than by force or curiosity, "even as you are drawn to the mountains and hills of earth."
Its most concrete and unusual claim concerns practical habits carried over after death — the "orderliness," the simple, unshowy arrangements built on Earth "so that you may not be a trouble to other people," are said to be mirrored and preserved in the spirit world too, not lost or transcended but built upon. Nothing practical or humble, on this account, is wasted preparation; a lifetime spent valuing "the simple, holy, humble things" over the unreachable and grand becomes, in spirit, the very shape of a life already suited to its new surroundings — someone who never craved beyond their reach on Earth finding, quite naturally, that they don't crave beyond it there either.
