It is with great joy that we come so near to you again in this way. But think you not that we have been far away from you during the past week as you know time. And we have been very, very pleased with the results. After all, these meetings, these talks, these conversations, as much as we both, those of you on your side, and we on this side of the veil, enjoy these meetings, these talks, nevertheless, they are but props, and we have been very pleased to be able to put to the test, to put Mary to the test, and we have found that we have been able quite easily to impress her ans to inspire her through her own mind.
We felt that we were getting nearer and nearer to be able to do this, and we are all very pleased, as we have said, with the result. We have found that we have had reason to give little warnings, and she has immediately picked up the message, and acted upon it. But it is only natural for a person who is not naturally mediumistic, one who is s80 faithful to enjoy a meeting, or a sitting as you call it, with a Medium, but in very truth, Mary, we talk to you through thought and you receive and answer.
Now you find this very difficult to believe, but we have talked to you through thought, through your mind again and again, over the past weeks and you have answered with your thoughts. We have indeed held what we call thought conversations.
There was the occasion when we felt we must warn you, and quietly we told you what we had to say, and you immediately stood up and said to yourself, "I must do something about this". Your answer was immediate, do you remember the incident?
You say your mind is rather slow. No, Mary, your brain may be slow, but you are quicker then you have ever been to hear us and to respond to us, because you are getting nearer and nearer to the world of Spirit physically, and because you have made the search, you are absolutely in tune with us mentally.
You have heard the expression, 'As the crow flies.' And now at last, since you have taken back the stone, when this happens it is of course, a mental state. And no longer do the guides, and the controls and the helpers have to worry about their ward and charge taking the wrong turning. We know that you will find this very hard to believe, because, to arrive at this state, the state when one has handed back to one the precious stone, one has inevitably had to practice in every way the virtue of humility. One has had to realise from the very bottom of one's heart his absolute nothingness. And one cannot have handed back to him the stone unless he is ready to receive it And unless he can be absolutely trusted there is a law by which it could never pass from the hand of the keeper to the child concerned.
And now, beloved, you make your way home as the crow flies, straight and unswerving. The obstacles, barriers, are underneath you. We want you to remember these words because they are true, and whatever you do, whatever you say, whatever you think, from the very bottom of your heart you will find that this is so, and that this is right. And we ask you not to be afraid.
We ask you too, to accept from others as freely as you have given to others. Because, dear child, even as they who helped the teachers and the saints of old to help themselves. So will those who help you, help themselves, because, by helping you, by holding a thought of you in their minds, they will contact influences that will only benefit their physical, their mental, and their spiritual well-being.
Now we know that you will argue with yourself about this and we are prepared. But as you have just been saying, to be able to laugh at oneself is a very, very good thing, add a sense of humour it is true, is a very precious stone to possess. A very precious gem to have on one's make-up. And, Mary, humour is also in the spiritual world, in our minds and in our thoughts, and we can still laugh heartily.
And as you sit brooding about the things which we have told you to-day, and saying, "No, no, it cannot be." We shall laugh. Kindly, good-humouredly. And although you may not feel it, we shall pat you gently on the back and say, "It is so. It is so."
We bring you one this day who lived to be a great age whilst on the Earth plane. He was, Mary, my own Earthly master, and I have always wanted to bring him into your presence. I know how much you love me, I know how much you respect and revere me, I know just how you feel concerning me, because I felt the same way about this dear master of mine. But I could see and meet him in the flesh. I could sit at his dear feet and listen to his words of wisdom. He would touch me, and I would be healed, and my depressions, which were many, would disappear. I was indeed fortunate, I was indeed blessed. But you have had to have faith. You have had to believe in something, someone somewhere else who you could not see. And your faith has made you whole, Mary, for you have believed as a little child. I thank you for this, I thank you. And my master and I and all who are gathered here, send you our love, and we leave you our peace. And we lift our eyes, and we ask you to see with us, as you look through a veil to us, we look through another veil, and we see the Christ, and the Buddha, and the great ones, and we thank God for their example. And we join the great oneness, the great unity, the absolute. And we are content to look up to our elder brothers, just grateful and thankful that they are there.
This transcript records something quietly remarkable: guides confirming, with evident delight, that direct thought-communication has actually been working — messages given silently, received and acted on immediately, without either party consciously realising it was happening in the moment. What's asked in return is reciprocity: to accept help from others as freely as she has given it, since helping her, the transcript says, benefits the helper too — a two-way exchange rather than a one-way gift.
The image of the stone returns from "Moonstone," a few transcripts back, now with a practical consequence: having it in hand means walking "as the crow flies," obstacles beneath rather than in the way — not because life has become easier, but because the wavering and second-guessing that used to cause wrong turns is no longer needed.
The transcript's most touching moment is its closest comparison to Doubting Thomas (John 20:29) without naming him directly: a guide who, in life, had the good fortune to sit at his own master's feet, touch him, be healed by him in the flesh — contrasted openly with Mary, who has had to believe "in something, someone somewhere else who you could not see," and is told plainly, "your faith has made you whole... for you have believed as a little child" — the same blessing Christ pronounces on those who believe without seeing. It closes with an unusually wide vista: guides looking through their own veil toward Christ and Buddha, exactly as Mary looks through hers toward them — a chain of reverence running all the way up, everyone in it grateful simply to have someone further ahead to look toward.
