We greet you in the name of the Master whom we humbly serve.
We are reminded at this time, by the thoughts emanating from the minds of the Earth people, of the so-called New Year has begun. Because it is a custom that you are used to, we wish you a happy and a blessed New Year.
But we would remind you also that there is nothing new under the sun. At the same time there are indeed greater things in heaven and on Earth than man ever dreamed. And many, many years, as you know time, have gone by, and we have stood by your side, and for a long, long time we seemed to stand and simply wait. And we remember when God was not recognised, was not known, and when great doubts filled thy mind. And yet always sometimes stronger than others, sometimes a mere flicker in the darkness, the light was there.
And we remember when you were with us in the Spirit world, before your Earth incarnation, when we would talk and discuss, when we were altogether in the land, this land, of love and peace and healing. And how we would talk together, and how carefully your parents were chosen, and how we know almost exactly what traits you would inherit, what planet you would be born under, what stresses and strains you would have to cope with. And them would you meet. Would everything obey the law? Yes. Even John was there. All was known. All was planned. All was hoped for.
But we all knew, you and us, that with your birth on Earth the gift of free will would still be your own. And we all knew that if the Earth tempted thee too much, that you would go the way of all flesh, and once again, we would all be faced with the same decisions to make, all over again.
But here we are, beloved, all together. And you have not allowed your Spirit to forget your promises. You have kept your word. There have been times when we doubted, when we have indeed been filled with fear and trembling for the safety of your soul. But at last we are indeed re-united, and there is nothing new under the sun. We are old friends. Altogether again. We have not just come into your lives with this New Year. For years and years and years we have been friends in the spirit. But we cannot express to you in words what it means to be known and recognised whilst you are still in the flesh. It means you have not, unless you absolutely choose to, come back again into the Earth conditions.
But until a human being can come hence and do real, valuable work, before one can pass from sphere to sphere, then one must recognise spiritual power and the relationship of man to God.
Man must have knowledge of the Christ or the Buddha Spirit whilst on Earth before he can be fully equipped to do the real work in the Spirit world. This does not mean that people who pass hence without this knowledge are not very useful, very good, and very happy. It does not mean that they do not go to one of the many mansions that are very pleasant, and, as a matter of fact, really wonderful to their way of thinking, if they have lead good, honest lives, helped one another, and really tried. But, the fact remains, and we want you to remember this, one must know in one's heart, that life is eternal, and that God is love, and that the Spirit is indestructible and everlasting, whilst on Earth. One must recognise that one is on the way to heaven here and now, whilst in the flesh, before they can do those tasks which require absolute faith, integrity and love. And the amazing thing is that this knowledge is often found in the simple folk. The simple, lowly, and homely. Carpenters and fishermen of your world. It is very rare that one who has material possessions, Mary, listen carefully beloved, and the things of the Earth turns to God in complete and absolute humility.
You are blessed, beloved, pray and ask for what you will. Your wishes will be granted for thou canst be trusted. Dear child, thou hast been faithful in little things. Feel our love, feel our love. Know that your thoughts will create power to guide us to those who need help. It has been a good year. It will be a good year for ever more. Everlasting eternity. Amen.
There are many things described here. A world in which there are greater things than we can even imagine, planning our current life with those who care, and that a Divine spirit is within. It suggests that our free will risks us straying from our promised path. The idea of souls choosing their circumstances before birth and then forgetting the choice is not new. It appears as far back as Plato's Myth of Er, and resurfaces in modern life-between-lives regression research (Michael Newton, Robert Schwartz).
The message teaches that spiritual progress depends upon truly knowing, whilst on Earth, that life is eternal and God is love.
This spiritual understanding is identified with the Christ or Buddha spirit. This is not adherence to a particular religion, but as recognition of divine love within. This is an idea is found repeatedly from the Beatitudes to Lao Tzu's account of the sage.
So how do we recognise this Christ Spirit within. What is being described here is the instinct that kindness and compassion are underlying principles that guide actions. This is described by Meister Eckhart's scintilla animae (the "spark of the soul") — a point in the soul untouched by time or intellect, already one with the divine, from which right action flows without needing deliberate theological awareness.
Mary is told that her prayers will be answered because she can be trusted. This implies that trust needs to be earned first. The other important implication is that those prayers are needed to guide the spirit world to those who need help.
A final point worth pondering over is the delight expressed by the Spirit guides at being recognised.
