The great teacher, Jesus Christ, who we all love and worship, even in this world, even though perhaps, some of us had not heard of Him before we passed hence, but because our eyes are opened when we arrive, as it were, on the other side, we look back unto the human world, unto the Earth plane, and we see the effect that this one or that had on the different peoples of your world.
And although I myself worshipped in the shrine of India, and at the feet of the ancient ones, and the expressions that we used in our worship were different, the phraseology also was different, and yet the Spirit was the same. And as we receive and welcome the great ones who come over who have worshipped at the feet of the Christ, and we can see, as we have said before, the effect of His example, and His teaching amongst the peoples of the Earth, we love Him and serve Him even though we did not understand whilst we were upon the Earth.
And we thought, as all the people think, that ours was the only way, that this was the only path. But, we forgot, or we did not know in our ignorance, that all these paths lead to God, and everyone searching for truth is inspired and developing the Spirit within himself.
And this great one said, "In my Father's house there are many mansions." But so many people, hearing these words, or reading the scriptures, imagine that they have to wait to enter into their own particular mansion until they die. But this is wrong thinking. The many mansions of God are there to be occupied at all times, in any world including the Earth plane.
And you create these mansions, or halls, or ordinary dwelling phases of the Spirit, you create these places through your own thought, through your own way of life, and these indeed are a place, or the place of one's own. And these dwelling places are places built only in the mind. And the state, and condition, and circumstances of each Spiritual dwelling place, reflects the way of life and the thoughts and prayers of the one concerned.
And Mary, you have taken up residence in your own Spiritual abode, even at this same time. And you sit, as it were, mentally and Spiritually, in a quiet place, and people feel the power of love and compassion and under-standing, which cometh forth from thine own, greater, self. Now we can hear you arguing as we speak, and we can hear your denial of this, we can hear you saying, "This is not so. I am inadequate, I am ashamed of my own thoughts and feelings, and of my so-called peevishness".
And we hear so many times the thought coming from you, that all this is childish and stupid. But we say that this is human. And this is simply your own human nature which you were born with, and all these things appertaining to the body which you have to endure. But your own particular Spiritual mansion, belonging to His Father's house, is a place apart. And these that you draw unto yourself, who ask for help in this way and that, these little ones who write, and knowing that they can unburden thoughts to you, recognise this particular mansion which you have made your own, a Spiritual abode. And they know that by coming to this sacred place, which it is indeed, they will receive comfort, words of comfort, and words of wisdom, and gentle understanding. Not only of their Spiritual needs, but of the trials and tribulations of their everyday, ordinary, lives.
And we want you to remember, that only those who have been, as it were, to the bottom of the great void, can ever claim for themselves a mansion in His Father's house whilst upon the Earth.
And the great void is occupied at different times by very, very different types of people on all levels of consciousness, but those who enter into and go down into the depths of the great void of their own accord, these are they who make the descent equipped with the things of the Spirit.
These are they who feel disturbed and perplexed, because they feel that there is a great purpose, and a great plan in life. And yet, they cannot find the answer. They are discontented and dissatisfied in a Spiritual way. They are not at rest because they know that there is something they must find out for themselves. All things that come to them second hand are not good enough.
And yet, they have the faith, the love in their hearts, and the hope, and trust in the Great Spirit. And equipped with these things which are symbolic of a lighted torch and a sturdy rope, and protective clothing against the bitter winds and the strong elements which are to be found and felt in the great void.
They stake, as it were, a strong stake in the ground, and they place around it the rope of faith, of knowledge, of trust, and of hope, and of humility, and they slowly, with all their equipment, which they know not of at the time, which they are not aware of, they slowly and steed-fastly make the descent.
But down in this so-called pit, they will meet many who came not this way, they will meet and come up against many who were leading a happy, ordinary, life, wrapped up in their own thoughts, their own ways, going, as it were, along the path of pleasure, with their loved ones all around them, and not a care, as it were, in the world. And then perhaps their loved one, their nearest and dearest, is taken from them, or terrible illnesses attack the flesh, and the mind. And these, without equipment, because they have not sought, they have had no desire to search, God was but a word to them, and Christ but a fable, but a myth, but a story of long ago. And these find themselves, because of the great shock, and because their so-called world has been taken, as it were, from beneath their feet, they fall headlong into the great void, not knowing where they are, not knowing why they came, mentally disturbed, thoroughly, as it were, upset. The system, the natural nervous system, feeling under the great strain.
But, this is where we bring you words of comfort. Through your depressions, through your seeking, through your voluntary taking on of these conditions, all these things came to be because you were searching, and anyone that is delving for a great treasure, must go through the muck, as it were, and the mire to find these things and will, must be, sometimes, at the very lowest ebb, or, as it were, almost at rock bottom of the great void.
But this is where we bring you words of comfort. You have, because of this wilful, free will, willful search, equipped yourself with the light of love and understanding.
And these who have fallen headlong through, as we say, shock, or through utter selfishness, into the great void, these, who have lived for self, and these little ones you come up against all the time,
We feel that this little lady of whom you have been talking, through her way of life, has robbed herself, because of her selfishness of true love and compassion from others of the right kind and type. Now these will see the light which they themselves have not, in the great void, which the true seekers are carrying, and they have other equipment too, because, although they are not aware of it, they have prepared themselves for all emergencies, and this is why you have come through all your experiences, unscathed, as it were. You suffered for your mistake at the time. This is proof that the Spirit was indeed with you, and that you were inwardly asking for help at all times.
And these little ones in the darkness, not only around but within themselves, will cling to you. And very very gently you will make the ascent. And this is what you have done. Hand over hand, slowly and surely, you have come back, as it were, to the surface.
And although you find yourself in a strange world now, because it isn't the same. Everything looks different.
The things of the world no longer beckon. No longer tempt.
And you see reality through all false shining tinsels of the flesh, and materialism, and the ways of the world. But you have brought back with you the peace of Christ, not as the world knows it, and this is the treasure which all these little ones around you feel and are aware of, but know not what it is.
But now at last the time has come for you to sit as it were, in your own particular mansion of God. And in the quiet to enjoy the evening of your life, and not to fret, fume, or worry. But as these little ones come and ask for your advice on any level, on all their problems, believe us when we say, the answer is given unto you. You need, like the disciples, not worry about purse or script. You find that your material possessions are there. That is your purse. You find that you can help and comfort through your words, without script. You need not mediums or any one to help you at this point the contacts you have made your own, you can rely on your thoughts, you can rely on the help that is being given to you because you asked, and you earned it, and you are in contact with us, who love you, through the Teacher and Healer whom you have worshipped and loved.
And my own particular masters whom I serve also add to this power. And together, together, we shall have very, very, interesting work to do.
But in the meantime, in the quiet and the peace of your own mind, receive all these little ones, and know, although religion, God, the Spirit, not even Christ, cannot be mentioned, the love, the desire to serve, all this will create the power from us to you, and you will say exactly the right and proper thing.
It may not please those who ask for your advice, but fret not, let them go away, and if they think carefully they will return for more and more.
"In my Father's house there are many mansions" (John 14:2) is corrected here of its most common misreading: these mansions aren't rewards awaiting death, but places built now, in this life, "through your own thought, through your own way of life" — a spiritual dwelling occupied in the present, its condition reflecting exactly how a person actually lives and thinks. The transcript opens by widening this beyond Christianity specifically — a speaker who worshipped "in the shrine of India" recognises, on arriving in spirit, that different phraseology led to the same underlying reality: "all these paths lead to God."
Its central and most demanding claim is that entry to this mansion requires having gone down into what it calls "the great void" — willingly, equipped with faith, hope, and humility like a torch and rope for a genuine descent — rather than arriving there by accident. Two very different routes into that same void are distinguished sharply: those who choose the descent as part of real spiritual searching, and those who fall into it headlong through shock or loss, unequipped, "not knowing where they are, not knowing why they came." The transcript insists this distinction matters less than it might seem, though — because those who fell in unprepared can still, in the darkness, see the light carried by those who descended deliberately, and cling to it to find their own way back up.
Its closing turn describes what's earned by the one who has made this journey and returned: no longer tempted by "the false shining tinsels of the flesh," carrying instead "the peace of Christ, not as the world knows it" — recognisable to others even when they can't name what they're sensing. What's promised for what remains of Mary's own life is a settled purpose rather than retirement: to sit, as the disciples were told, without purse or script (Luke 22:35), simply speaking rightly to those who come, trusting that "the answer is given unto you" in the moment it's needed, without further need for searching of her own.
