Mary my beloved, you who have thought that romance as such has passed you by, realise that now we come face to face. And because you are aware of reality, you must be aware of eternal, everlasting, youth. The prime of life, as it were, the spiritual life. I see thee as thou art, and I am well pleased. How great is our love for the Father. For the Spirit. We are one in our desire for Him. We are mad for the love of God.
So many times it has been said that Christ died that we might live. Christ died to save mankind. But thou knowest Jesus died. Christ, the Christ spirit, immortal, everlasting, before the beginning and after the end - This Christ can never die.
And in the life of Jesus the man, His death, the cross, was but an incident, but His rising again was all-important. The only really important thing about Easter is the knowledge that Christ rose from the dead, and this, as we have said, is not wholly true, and it is Easter to us in these realms, every time a human being dies to self, we rejoice, beloved, every time that we are invited by the Master to His wedding feast. To the joining together of the body, and the soul, and the spirit. These wedding feasts are the greatest thing that can possibly happen on your Earth plane. And seeing that these things only happen, as it were, on the mental and the psychic and the spiritual spheres, man himself does not recognise these holy gatherings.
And you remember that in the holy book it is written that many were bidden to the feast, to the wedding reception, and those that were invited for this reason and for that, refused to attend. And the master sent for his servant and said, “Bid anyone that you meet to come to the feast that I had prepared in the first place for others”.
And so, my child, do not be astounded because you feel that you have been invited and that you have attended these places on the spiritual plane. We understand because we can read your mind, that sometimes thou art a little perplexed and even anxious concerning these things. But you see, beloved, it is written. It is written that many who were thought fit to be invited and to sit in the high places, refused of their own free will, because the things of the Earth, their material activities, their financial affairs, called them away from the feast of Spirit. The banquet has been prepared for many, but, so very often the lowly and the humble have found their way and have set at the table with the good masters. And in their humility, in their humbleness, in the very quiet of their hearts, they have been able to receive. And because they understand and know and cherish love which has come to them because of their humility, they have partaken of the feast of the spirit. These are they who in the darkness and in the silence above the noise of the world, who have listened and sought and found, because they have listened to the voice of God, because, above all other things, they have wanted to hear the voice of the Father, they have heard the sound within themselves of living waters. And deep in their own being a fountain has welled up and whoever partakes of these waters shall be cleansed.
In other words, what you have you have earned. What you sought for you have found. What you asked for you have received. And whoever cometh unto you with humbleness and poorness of spirit and will drink of the cup that you offer shall be cleansed.
But know you this. Know you this. As you have already experienced, those who you think are ready, those who you have prepared the feast and the banquet for, are those who will walk past your door and will turn and walk other ways. But, there are always the others, who, as soon as you beckon, will come quietly, unadorned, meekly, and these will sit at your table. There are always the hungry and the thirsty in the material world, but here and there, there are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness.
And to-day, we who are beginning to understand the deeper mysteries of life and its purpose, are not concerned with those crying and wailing concerning the death of Jesus. We are concerned with those who rejoice, and who understand, and who give thanks for the immortal spirit, the indestructible, the living, breathing, moving Christ.
Let this be the springtime of your very own immortality.
This brings comfort to those who felt that have missed out on the love of human relationships. It makes it clear that spiritual love is far more wonderful. It mentions eternal youth. It points out the idea that Christ “Rose from the dead” isn’t quite right – as of course there is no death. It emphasises the difference between the man who was Christ, and the Christ-Spirit itself, the eternal, indestructible, and essence within all. In this view, the true significance of Easter lies not in mourning the crucifixion, but in the continual “rising” that occurs whenever a person dies to self—releasing ego, attachment, and worldly preoccupation—and awakens to the deeper life of the spirit. This awakening is described as a kind of inner union, a “wedding feast,” available not to the outwardly important or preoccupied, but to the humble, the receptive, and those who genuinely seek. Spiritual fulfilment is realised through inner readiness, humility, and a sincere longing to experience the Divine directly within.
