…… and know God, not only in the so-called good, not only in those in high positions, in authority, but you see and recognise Him in every other living soul.
And you have learned not to pick and choose, but to embrace all and sundry. Although you cannot take them all as it were, into your heart, because of the varying temperaments.. the misunderstanding, ignorance and the wrong thinking, and yet, the sadness, the great compassion which fills your being because you cannot do this, is a sign that you have the knowledge that God is within, within all and everу опе.
And now you know, as you sit alone in the quiet, in the silence, the only feeling which you have, deep in your heart, for those who are not on the same vibration as yourself, is of pity and compassion. Even those who hurt you, who act spitefully, and who in their ignorance would persecute you, underneath there is compassion and there is a sadness because of their lack. And if you could, you would give, and you would take away their ignorance, and you would love them as your very own. But, like all those who have gone before you, even the great masters, the great teachers, had to mourn that they could not do this.
But, Mary, when sleep holds you, and you are free from the body, we would refer to these times, not as Alice in Wonderland, but as Mary in wonderland. Because at these times we are able to explain, in the wonderful worlds through which we travel, all the mysteries, all the secrets, which you are at this time able to understand. There is much which we could not tell you even in the sleep state, because there is so much, beloved, that we do not know. But nevertheless we go back together in time, we go through so-called space, we journey to other planets, and it is indeed a wonderland.
And it is because, when you return to your tired, aching body, and the day begins again, and after a little while you feel the life force moving and you feel that once again you are able to cope with the day in front, deep in your subconscious you remember and you know. And you are aware of this, although you cannot exactly point, or put your finger on the exact spot in your mind….
This transcript addresses a specific, honest limitation rather than pretending it away: recognising God in every soul does not mean being able to embrace every soul equally — "you cannot take them all, as it were, into your heart, because of the varying temperaments." What matters, the transcript insists, is not managing that impossible feat but the compassion felt precisely because one cannot: sadness at the gap between what's recognised as true (God within everyone) and what's actually felt (real difficulty loving some of them) is itself named as proof the recognition is genuine, not a failure of it. Even hurtful or spiteful people are met, underneath, with sorrow at their lack rather than anger at their offence — and the transcript is honest that "even the great masters... had to mourn that they could not" love perfectly either, rather than presenting this as a solved problem.
Its second half turns to the sleep state as a real, ongoing education — travel "through so-called space" to "other planets," described plainly as "Mary in wonderland" rather than dressed up in solemn language. What's learned there isn't retained as clear memory on waking, but as something felt rather than recalled — a returning "life force" and a capacity to face the day that draws on knowledge held "deep in your subconscious," known without being locatable. This is close to what's sometimes described in contemplative and Jungian thought as knowledge held below the threshold of conscious recall — present and operative in how a person meets the day, even though its source can't be pointed to directly.
