Children of the light, the Father is a giver of gifts. But in his great wisdom he will not give any gift to one who would abuse it or use it wrongly. And I, I would have you examine the gift that you have earned even more closely. And we will take the stone and we will examine it and we will look into it and we will realise its intrinsic value. What is the stone? It is the peace, not of the world, but the peace of Christ. It is the pearl, it is the pearl of great price of which the Christ talked. It is the stillness. It is the great wonder, it is the absolute. It is the quiet in the midst of tumult and chaos. It is the shining light in the terrible darkness of surrounding ignorance and fear. It is the calm in the centre of the raging storm. It is the 'I AM'. It is the thou art That, of the Buddha. It is the peace of mind.
All other things are unreal, are false, are illusion. You grieve for the one who suffers, for the one who is about to leave Earth, simply because you know that this one or that is ignorant of truth and is afraid. If you could dispel their ignorance and their fears you would be at peace even as the world knows it. But at this same time you can only accept the peace of Christ. For those who have not sought for truth, for those who do not understand the all pervading love of God. These can only appreciate peace as the world knows it. A freedom from physical pain, a granting of all their materialistic cravings, of possessing the things of the Earth, the joys, the so-called pleasures, the so-called happiness of human relationships. This is peace as the world knows it.
When this so-called peace is taken away and the body ails and the desires are frustrated and the cravings are still there unsatisfied, there is nothing, nothing but the darkness of their own ignorance, the fear of going without, of pain, and of the dark, overhanging, menacing shadow of death which they think is the end. They have not the pearl of great price. They have not the peace of Christ. They have not the stillness, the deep calm within.
But those of us who have searched and found must be grateful for this peace, for this pearl, for this stone, for this stillness which is there beneath the raging waters of the physical world. Now shall we see the power which the stone possesses. It is a secret and a sacred thing to the one who has earned it. There is nothing to show outwardly, but it is like unto the diamond of many facets and its beams penetrate through the darkness and through the fears, and through the ignorance of those with whom you come into contact. It helps in ways you know not of. Because all around, all around, wherever the stone is, the ministering angels and the Spirits who serve in love, the followers and the servants of the Great One, children of God, the wise and the altogether lovely. And to possess, to have earned and acquired the pearl whilst upon the Earth is indeed a great and glorious thing.
The presence of this knowledge of attaining to this level of consciousness means that you have overcome the world, and you stand upon the rock.
But it does not alter the fact that to all around you are the people, the persons, the little ones who have built their house through their ignorance and their fears upon the shifting sands, and although you stand firm and erect, safe and sound upon your own rock, you cannot help but see the shifting, the sliding, the falling down, the crashing all around you, of these little ones who have built their house upon the shifting sands. have rejected the corner stone, the Christ, the Spirit of love who are left this undeveloped within themselves, and neglected, because they have chosen to chase the shadows of the world and have left the substance to lie and to wait until, through their own initiative, their own seeking, their own turning away from self and turning to God, will fan this spark into a flame. But, because the flame, the light, burns within your own heart, you are entitled to take comfort from this. To seek in that quiet place within your own being, it's peace.
You must never feel guilty when the Christ is within you for a little while. As you know the sick and the poor, the needy, the old, the ignorant, and the frightened, are with you always. But the Spirit of Christ only for a little while, now and again. When you are still and quiet enough to gaze at this, the pearl, the stone, the stillness. It is yours. It is yours. So you must learn to separate the peace as the world knows it, and the peace which Christ has given unto you. The development of the Christ within yourself, has acquired through itself, the stone and the pearl. And while the body holds, this is the only peace, the only truly valuable thing that you will possess.
Because you see aright, you see with clear vision, and you cannot like, you cannot be expected to like, all that you see.
For most of what you see is created, not through love, not through wisdom, not through understanding, but through ignorance and fear which breeds hate, jealousy, spite, and utter selfishness. The destroyers. But it cannot destroy, it cannot hurt the possessor of the stone. And so we leave you with words of the Master, 'Be still, and accept my peace.'
All is well, beloved, fear not, for love is all around you, will be able to give peace and comfort and help to those whom you love. For God is not mocked, and those with whom you come into contact are sent to you, because they lean to the power which emanates from your mind wherein the stone is safely lodged. Be at peace.
Where earlier transcripts let the stone accumulate meaning gradually through image after image, this one names it outright: "it is the peace, not of the world, but the peace of Christ... it is the 'I AM'... it is the Thou art That, of the Buddha." Every recurring thread of this collection is gathered into one line, as though this transcript exists specifically to consolidate what came before rather than add anything new to it.
Its sharpest distinction is between two kinds of peace that can look similar from outside but aren't related. Worldly peace depends on conditions — freedom from pain, satisfied craving, comfortable relationships — and collapses the moment those conditions fail, leaving "nothing but the darkness of their own ignorance" behind it. The peace of the stone doesn't depend on conditions at all; it sits "beneath the raging waters of the physical world," untouched by what happens on the surface, whether or not craving is satisfied or pain is present.
Its most demanding honesty concerns what possessing this peace doesn't grant: not exemption from grief for others, not immunity from clearly seeing "the shifting, the sliding, the falling down" of those who've built on less solid ground, and not permanent, unbroken possession even of the peace itself — "the Spirit of Christ only for a little while, now and again," while "the sick and the poor... are with you always." The transcript's closing instruction addresses this gap directly and gently: never feel guilty for the Christ Spirit's intermittence — the stone remains real and yours even in the intervals when it can't be felt, "safely lodged" whether or not it's currently in view.
